Bahubali: The Beginning Vs Bajarangi Bhaijan

Hindi language is not difficult to understand for Nepalese. So, Bollywood movies are popular in Nepal. Salman Khan's Bajarangi Bhaijan, which was released two weeks ago is still doing good business in the capital of Himalayan nation. Bahubali: The Beginning, a Telugu and Tamil movie was released a week before Bajarangi Bhaijan is also still screening on cinema halls of Kathmandu.

Bahubali: The Beginning and Bajarangi Bhaijan tell different stories. Bahubali: The Beginning is a story of an ancient kingdom of Mahishmati and Prabhas is the protagonist of this movie with powerful arms. On other hand, Bajarangi Bhaijan based on the story of how ordinary people’s life suffers due to bitter relationship between India and Pakistan. Salman plays the role of a ‘simpleton’ person from Brahman family who goes through different hardships to help a little Pakistani Muslim girl return to her family.

Both movies are very successful from the business point of view.

In my opinion, Bajarangi Bhaijan is a perfect example of commercial traditional Bollywood movie. I watched Bajarangi Bhaijan with my friend Smita and her sister Prativa. While the movie was running, Smita predicted almost every events in the movie as if she was its scriptwriter but Prativa enjoyed with emotional moments.

I watch movies for time-pass and refreshment. So, I like Bajarangi Bhaijan more. But, I don’t agree with the claims that it’s the great movie of Bollywood. Bahubali: The Beginning is a great movie with its making but ending is disappointing. It is like watching a TV serial when it continuous on 2016.

Non the less, though personally I don't like war movies, if anyone is interested in ancient war culture and politics of the kingdom, they are definitely going to enjoy watching Bahubali: The Beginning.
